Hello, Gentle Readers,
It’s a federal holiday in the United States, so I’m taking today off. Yes, I know I just took a whole lot of time off in December. Yes, I know I have only been back to our usual posting schedule for two weeks. But those two weeks have been… uh… let’s call them A Lot (have you been following the news?), so I am giving myself the gift of a three-day weekend with my spouse and cats.
Our Wednesday post will be going live this week as usual, so check back in a couple of days for a new Most Dangerous Game. And in the meantime, here’s a little something to tide you over: “Alexia,” a horror short by Argentinian filmmaker Andrés Borghi.
Reminiscent of the creepypasta “My Dead Girlfriend Keeps Messaging Me On Facebook” by way of “Username:666,” this one premiered at the Terrorificamente Cortos film festival in October of 2013; it went on to do quite well on the festival circuit — which, honestly, is unsurprising. It’s spooky in all the right ways, and although I do think there are spots where it shows us a little too much, it’s still extremely effective. Watch it here:
It’s a good reminder to get off the internet every now and again, isn’t it?
See you all on Wednesday!
